Jazz Fundraiser – June 11, 2022

Jazz Festival Fundraiser featuring our Faculty

The concert is a fundraiser for the South Delta Jazz Festival and Workshop, which will be held this coming August 8 – 17th. This 10-day program provides musicians and audiences with the
opportunity to appreciate, explore and deepen their knowledge of jazz music.

The 6-piece jazz ensemble for the SPRING HAS SPRUNG concert will feature professional musicians from the DCMS instructional roster including Music Director Stephen Robb (keys and reeds), South Delta Jazz Festival Faculty Laura Harrison (voice),  Kevin Lee (trumpet), Brad Muirhead (trombone), Ron Samworth (guitar), Brent Gubbels (bass),
and Stan Taylor (drums).

The fundraiser is being held to help keep the tuition fees for the SDJ Festival & Workshop affordable for local families, and to help fund the musical events associated with the Festival.
Covid has severely impacted the high school band programs in South Delta, making it even more important for DCMS to provide musical education and entertainment in the Ladner and Tsawwassen communities.

DCMS is dedicated to helping our young people develop and grow musically, socially, and intellectually, and to building community pride and spirit, through public concerts.

“We are rasing funds for the 2022 South Delta Jazz Festival and Workshop to help offset the costs of offering the program and to make the program more affordable and accessible to families “

Covid-19 protocols for Summer 2022

At this point, the Delta Community Music School is maintaining our Stage 4 protocols that have been in place for the past year.  We require all students age 12 and up to be double vaccinated, complete the COVID-19 consent form, and complete the daily health check and temperature during all in-person meetings.

Face masks are required except while playing a wind instrument or singing.
